Invoicing is an often tedious but necessary part of growing your business. Therefore automate your invoicing process by applying cloud-based tools to get it all done! Use a free invoice template to bill and get paid faster, printed or offline.
Your client wants to know exactly where their money is going, and your invoice should communicate the nitty gritty details of the job. Be specific rather than general with your line items. Instead of listing “materials” as a single expense, itemize each one on its own line, such as: paint, nails, plywood, etc. It’s also a good idea to attach receipts to back your claims. Don’t risk having your client wonder if you’re padding the bill.
If this is your first business, it may be difficult to know what your invoice template should look like. If you`re unsure, or would like some ideas, you can find examples of invoices online. Friends or family who are self-employed or run their own businesses are also a good source of inspiration for your own invoice template.
